Lose It

I hear it, my body takes over.
My foot uncontrollably leads the way.
The beat tapping on my attention like Morse code.

My ability to resist begins to wear thin.
My carefree hips begin to sway.
The most hypnotic drug I've ever known.

Bum bum ba dam dam there is goes again.
It's seductive words teasing my brain.
I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to resist.

The hits on the drums match pace with my heart,
I begin to swerve out of my lane.
I begin to wander if I should give up the fight and the song replies "I insist".

I lose myself and the music takes over.
I'm now lost in the rhythm of the melody.
I begin my journey through the lyrical wood.

Past fields of harmony and streams of bass.
The instruments sounding a "hello" to me.
The pattern of the chords do things to me, words never could.
