Life's Love

"What if I can't love?"

the boy whispered to the old man,

"What if mom and dad are right?

and I can't feel anything within?"

"I know what you mean,"

the old man sighed.

"Some days it feels like I to,

am empty inside."

The boys eyes widened up

at the old man sitting there.

"You feel it to?"

he whispered back.

Leaning down the old man replied,

"It's just a part of life,

that makes us love

even more fiercely back."
