Let Me Write

I hate this, loathe it with a passion.

Why must I write an essay on something that means nothing to me.

When I write I offer you a part of me,

please let me give you a part that matters.

Let me tell you about the human brain,

take you deep into the science of emotion.

I'll give you my ideas on the origin and role of organized religion,

I'll bring you through the mind of a struggling girl with ADD.

Please let me.

I never write just for the grade,

my writing always says something,

whether it be right or wrong,

biased or unbiased.

Writing is important to me.

Writing lets us connect.

It binds us together,

with words and ideas.

Let me give you my soul.

I want to write you part of my mind.

Give me the opportunity,

 I'll give you something extraordinary.

Don't make me write about some meaningless metaphor.

Let me give you something real.
