We don't ever move on, 

from the person we were,

or the life we had,

we just add more layers.

Some layers are for hiding our past,

and some layers are for adding on to something good,

but no layer will disappear,

ever.

Unfortunately or fortunately,

we are who we are,

humans, builders, lovers, grievers,

souls.
