it's my turn

In a male dominated society

It is hard to be a woman

You have to do things quietly

Only to be proven

a fool,

Trying to act politely

Thinkin it makes you look cool

Its no wonder our pay check is slighty

Below the male’s, considering the fact

That all they ever do is act

Yet here we are believing every one of their words

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why do we have to get a burn

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why don’t we get more in return

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s my turn

This is the aspect of myself

That is worthy of respect and admiration

our commonwealth

is what I fight for

I believe that this country

Has led us to believe that the minority

Is not a priority

But I aint talkin about race

Im talkin bout gender

Im talkin bout love here

If you really loved me

You would help me

Achieve

And succeed

What is your problem

Trying to bring me down

But naw son,

Im always having fun

Some call it arrogance

I call it confidence

I don’t know about yall

But I aint done…

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why do we have to get a burn

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why don’t we get more in return

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s my turn

If I were a boy

Life would be so much easier

I’d get less weasier

By that I mean, going places

Seeing random faces

Would not be something I hated

Because I have to be concentrated

On what I wear.

So yes being a woman is difficult

It is challenging immensely

But I had to work hard to achieve where im at

And being a lady is something im good at

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why do we have to get a burn

I’m just trying to say maybe it’s our turn

Why don’t we get more in return

I’m just trying to say x5
