I called for attention

I asked for protection

I promise I’ll never ask again

 

I want to be loved

I want to be able to love

I promise I’ll never desire again

 

I cursed myself

I hurt myself

I promise I’ll never kill myself

 

I listened to the taunts

I heard all the lies

I promise, it never happened

 

I am a person who is known

I am someone who is looked up to

I promise I’ll never dream again

 

I promise that I’ll try

I promise that I’ll do it

But, I will not promise to be what you want me to be
