I Am A Product
Location
I am a product of time.
I am a product of my mind,
A painful, biting prison.
I am a product of anger,
Anger at the injustice in
Everyday society.
I am a product of hatred,
Born of human nature,
The nature to separate,
To stand alone from the crowd.
I am a product of pain,
Abuse at the hands
Of my peers and people
Who should care,
Like my family.
I am a product of creativity,
Writing, reading,
Dancing, singing,
Acting, drawing,
Designing,
Changing.
I am a product of music,
The Youth of the Nation
In the Diary of Jane,
The Freshmen,
Everything You Want,
One-X,
Because Life Starts Now.
I am a product of the stage,
Born to put on a mask
And a costume
And dance around
And be someone else
And not be me.
I am a product of a revolution,
Fighting for my rights
As a transgender man,
Gay, broken, alone,
Destroyed by discrimination.
I am a product of innovation,
New technology every month,
New ideas,
New truths.
I am a product of hope,
Finding something to grasp onto,
To fight and make it through each day.
I am a product of life,
This thing we are born into and have no choice in.
I am a product of time.
