I am

I am Victoria Brooke Pickel

I wonder how many people actually know my full name

I hear people say Victoria

I see parents naming their kids Brooke.

I am also a Pickel.

I pretend it's pronounced pickle

I feel embarrassed when correcting people

I touch pickles

I cry when I can not eat a pickle

I am a Pickel.

I understand not any people have the last name Pickel

I say I know the name is odd

I dream about a life where no one cares for last names

I try not to think about it much

I hope poeple understand what I mean when I say

I am a Pickel.
