happy valentine’s day to me

I've cared & cared so much; tis true,

But who have you ever been true to?

I've tried & tried so much it hurts,

but what effort have you put forth?

I'm done, so done, or so I say. But to my dismay,

I'm sure I'll stray again one day & pay to play it all your way.

Why can't I just make it all go away to stay!?

afterthought:

Without feeling like my insides are being forced

out thru every pore, tearing me to shreds

until there's nothing more, nothing at all left of me....

Zero to a million is the score.

I guess that’s just par for my course.
