Goodbye

Quietness swept the nation.

The only noise that could be heard was a small ringing sound.

No one talked.

And no one cried.

They just walked.

To where? That was the question.

There was no where to go.

We were going to die.

No one could save us.

We were stuck.

The only warning was the siren that played in the morning,

Informing us of what was about to happen.

I hugged my family close and kissed my wife one last time.

“Daddy, I don’t want to die.”

A tear slid down my face.

“Goodbye.”

The sound of machine guns went off.

“Goodbye.”

The government was killing us.

“Goodbye.”
