Forest Full of Birches

Let me go hide in a forest of birches
And watch me drown as heaviness seeps Under my skin
See me drench myself with fake stories
With courage letters in them
And watch me stand up tall
Looking like another birch looking zebra

Let me go run between a forest full of
Darkness
And watch it consume me and grasp
My only lungs
See it sweep me away with real stories
With cynic cruel words
And watch it get afraid
When I stand up tall
Looking like another birch looking zebra
In a densely Sequoia forest

Let me go chase after the wisp at the end of the forest
And watch me slip to try and grab it with my life
See it weep when it reads my stories
Full of desolation
And watch it hold me
When I stand up tall
Looking like another birch looking zebra
In this lovely forest made of misery

So please let me run into a forest full of birches
Because the Sequoia trees need one more light to be afraid of
And so I can be friends with the wisp that will hold me
And I can live in piece with all of my misgiving
