Fallen Princess

Location

You needed a second chance

I handed it over

You needed a place to stay

I offered you shelter

You needed to cry

I gave you my shoulder

You were down in the gutter

I fished you out

You needed love

I gave you mine

You all it all

And threw it away

Like it meant nothing

Like ‘I’ meant nothing

Here I am, flying high

Touching the sky

Going places

Doing things

Things you’ll never experience

Places you’ll never see

I gave my all to you

And you gave me nothing in return

What I hate most

Is that you never learned

Never learned how to stand on your own

Never learned to be a grown woman

You could’ve had it all

But instead, you let yourself fall

But I won’t be there to catch you

Not again.
