Double-Edged Sword

Tue, 05/10/2016 - 10:26 -- Dreavyn

Kiss my hand before you break my fingers,

The stinging pain will always linger.

Light fingertips stroke my cheek before you leave a bruise,

Without an option, there is no way I may refuse.

Wipe away my tears gently, yet you cause them to sweat

You speak those words reminding me not to fret.

Whisper sweet, indulgent words into my ears,

And later yell revolting words that bring me to tears.

I struggle between my love for you

And what's best for me, the things I know I should do.
