Conscience

You ever want to kill yourself?

Not in the way that comes to mind

But instead that being that lies inside

Do you ever get tired of him?

The you that limits your personal life

The one that keeps you so confined

You ever want to murder him?

Kill the one who speaks with words of hate

That voice at night that keeps you awake

Well I’m pretty sure we’ve all had the thought, and like this poem it’s kinda odd.

But we don’t really want to die,

It’s just a way to cope with life,

And so the questions asked again,

In a depressing loop that never ends

You ever want to kill yourself?
