My Strong Academics: My Own Villanelle

Mon, 08/12/2019 - 15:53 -- etobias

The teacher told me to study more.

My family wanted me to do well in school,

And because of the teacher, my grades began to soar.

Studying soon became a chore,

But being a strong academic had become an unspoken rule.

The teacher told me to study more.

Social studies made me want to snore,

But I was determined to educate myself and not be a fool,

And because of the teacher, my grades began to soar.

I don't know how to install a screen door,

But I can regurgitate every fact from twelfth grade to preschool.

The teacher told me to study more.

My lack of common sense is hard to ignore,

And the importance of my academic accomplishments appears miniscule

But because of the teacher, my grades began to soar.

I am nothing but a brainiac at my very core,

And it's pretty apparent that I'm nothing but a tool.

The teacher told me to study more,

And because of the teacher, my grades began to soar.
