A Letter to Lorde
Hi, my name will remain anonymous for the simple fact it's my heart
speaking not my name or who I am.
Lorde, I've never been a die-hard fan but I am absolutely a fan, especially
of your latest album Melodrama.
Your song, Writer In The Dark, was it written for me? You have captured
how I feel better than I could ever express. You, Ms. Lorde, have obviously
stalked me on instagram or facebook and God himself gave you this song to
write for me.
Here, to bring you out of the dark on what I mean let me tell you:
Now, I am not a writer just an aspiring amateur poet. I am not sure even if I
am worthy enough to call myself a poet.
When you say "Bet you rue the day you kissed a writer in the dark
Now she's gonna play and sing and lock you in her heart"
This verse screams me, I fell in love and he fell out of love and now he is all
I have left in my heart.
All I know is him, all I feel is him but as you go on and sing the rest
traveling into the third verse
"I'll love you 'til you call the cops on me
But in our darkest hours, I stumbled on a secret power
I'll find a way to be without you, babe"
I realized that I can move on and that it is really not that hard and it's
all in my head but Lorde how did you know this is what I needed?
Lorde, I feel as if I move on I will miss something dreadfully
prominent in my life with him. All I want is him.
Being a writer has it's pros and cons.
The pros? Well, you can take a simple feeling or emotion and turn it into
something worth a million dollars.
The cons? Well, whatever the emotion is you tend to write about it until
that's all you see, hear and feel. You can take that hatred and turn it into
an unapologetic sun. You can make something so ugly, beautiful.
Lorde, if you ever see this please, find me.
