That Dragon

There was once a time in a far off place

A town sat about a strange, but not unfamiliar, monolith

Stood there a palace built on hate and waste

An old dragon there thought he had precious taste

But he knew not it was his greed they revered

And they laughed as he sank

There was once a time in a far off place

The dragon long regretted his gold case

His humanity despised, his soul feared

His brilliance was gone

Once a time in a far off place

There stood a palace built on hate and waste

The silver had entered his veins in haste

HIs mind was lost to the greed, she wept

Yet he still hungered

There stood that place

Built on hate and waste

He, ruled by this greed, knew not he misplaced

His heart forever lost, never gathered

Never seen

Once a time in a far off place

Though he wished for his heart to know its place

The woman he dreamed of left filled with dread

So there he would stay

In a palace of hate and waste

Built once a time in a far off place
