From Sea to Shining Sea

A walk through Washington D.C. would be incomplete

Without a stop at a trickling fountain -

The object of a thousand dreams

And pennies flicked up high,

Like the work of our forefathers

And the dreams they threw into the fight.

A hike through the woods of the Appalachians would be incomplete

Without a stop by the lapping creek -

Water pours over the rocks

Like the blood of a thousand soldiers

That was shed so we could be free.

A visit to America would be incomplete

Without a stop by the rushing beach -

The anthem of our beauty

The symbol of our accomplishment:

"From sea to shining sea."
