My Worth

Wed, 01/27/2016 - 23:42 -- fyjg262

All I need is money,

I’m told everyday,

By teachers, parents, everyone,

Just what I need to pay,

To go to school, to get to eat,

To have a life of play.

I need to get more money,

Before my bridges burn,

And I’m left with mounds of debt,

Buried in the urn.

The World is made of money,

But people never see,

How much that awful money,

Really means to me.

I want a life full of happy,

Without that always care,

Of having money in my bank,

And looking tall and fair.

So I’ll keep on living,

But people will never see,

That my worth is not the numbers,

That the paper says is me.

This poem is about:
Me
Our world
