fear of the unknown

The sun is bright
A glowing orb that touches your skin with a warm kiss
I bask in the comfort it brings
Embracing the arms of light wrapped around me
Around every corner I can see
What’s the meaning of life Does anyone truly knowIs it all about finding someone Or exploring it on your own
What worlds lie behind our reflection
What variegated beings dance among our fate
What truth is there in resurection
What love lies amidst delphic hate
My heart beats the same as ever
My eyes see just as poorly
My nose works just as well
Yet I am different
When I roll out of bed late
Fear, something everything is born with
It can’t be washed away or forgotten
Whether it be a child’s fear of monsters in the dark
Sweeping the floor, glide on feet that mock us
He comes prowling the streets
when dusk has slain itself into midnights hour.
He stands a shadow of slate against ebony
