Dropouts

All my friends are drinking their money
They think it's funny
Losing their money
All my friends are playing with marbles
don't think it's harmful
losing their marbles
All my friends think life is a party
Painful infatuation
The only escape is
Transcendence of the human situation
Finding love, illusory promises of elation
Just another divorce
Just another teenage pregnancy
Just another death
Just another drop-out
Just another homocide
Suicide
Aborticide
Massacre
Just another war
The Valley
We all have our place that we call home
Some are big and flled of people
Ah school school school
Such a famous buliding block for success but all so difficult for the common student
Friendly to those whom meet your standards to the "T" but the source of stress for those who do not
High School Dropouts
"Don't worry" they say "Ill work for the rest of my life.."
and so they drop out not knowing of what is in to come for the future
A dream is supposed to be love and keen
but a dream deferred can prevent even the craziest dream
Will you let color, age or sex defer your dream?
or will you trust, believe, love and achieve,
Kids are steadily drooping out of school
Selling drug, hang in gangs becuase they think it's kind of cool
The list of the problems that are wrong with America
Will have these kids rolling off into hysteria
Its hard not feel like a cow.
Trapped, packed in by the dozens, herded through the halls
But with bells to worry about; they don't use prods anymore.
Squeezed through the door, shoved my way to my designated area.
A bird taking flight
Is what I will feel
A string on me tightly
None to my appeal
My thoughts blow me away
From true friends to miss
I feel I’m halfway
Gone from the great kiss
Our poor forsaken generation
Focus...focus....focus
Man if I don't blow this it's like I can't focus
Feeling like I'm choking....but I know if I'm not blowing this
