a kiss
Learn more about other poetry terms
a night remembered by
the whispers in the dark
and breathy sighs
shared between two
young lovers
speaking through
shaking hands
A kiss feels like childhood
When you make a PB&J
You spread the peanut butter and jelly on the bread unevenly at first.
Though eventually you get into the rhythm
Heart in a bird cage,
rough hands wrapped around my throat gently soothing down,
seducing fear inviting death,
sweet and bitter.
In my dream we were dared to kiss.
I never thought we would till you did.
So surprised was I at this
That the feelings I once hid
I could now not dismiss.
That kiss felt so surreal…
It was a fleeting romance,
My main memory is her lips,
The salt water heavy on my own,
It should have prepared me,
For the damage her crashing waves did,
She was a hurricane and I didn’t notice,
We passed the field by my house,
Where you used to say sorry;
Words never held meaning for you
Without smoke kissing lips.
I never should have.
I waited too long didn't I honey?
Kiss me now kiss me right now
Your lips so soft i can feel the sound of it on my lips
Kiss so special, so perfect so right
Eyes engage for an endless night
Kiss so sensual
