Existing can be confusing.
Thrown into the world,
you attempt to manage.
You follow.
You agree.
Regardless of whether you really do, in fact, concur.
Anxiety comes first
Then Depression and self hate
Darkness introduces itself
Threatens me and ridicules
Then test me
Then leaving me with bitterness
Here’s to my voice of reason
Because it’s there in every season
For the bitter, cold winter storm
And the sun-kissed, delightful warm
I’m not suicidal
But sometimes I wonder what would happen if I got in a car accident
If a distracted driver forgot to stop
I’m not suicidal
Poetry kept her safe;
Poetry kept her sane.
When words pile up within her brain and
Threaten to explode,
She turned to ink and paper.
Poetry gave her comfort;
Poetry gave her an escape.
Dear Anxiety. You suffocate me, like someones holding my lungs in their hands and squeezing harder and harder.I'm screaming, but no one can hear me. It hurts like my body is being stung by a thousand bees, and my lungs are exploding in a fire.

Dear Anxiety,
Looking into the barrel of a gun, I take one last breath.
No last words. No pleas. No “tell my family I love them.”
I am paralyzed by fear;
Don't be silent. They will think you are snobby.
But don't talk. They will find you irritating.
Don't walk slowly. They will race to get away from you.
But don't walk quickly. They will think you are "special".
