Once upon a time ago
I thought life could be easy.
Look at me
I’m lower
Than the sunken place
I feel like I’m lost at sea
Something we don’t know the cost of until it’s too late
We don’t know the cost until it’s sunk
No primal scream to warn us
We don’t know it’s air until we try to hold it
In the light of the lamp creatures come and go,
Passing from pen to page in its eerie glow.
Far off places full of castles and kings,
Places where the world is happy and sings.
Sings it does of the wonders of old,
The wind whistles
And the music howls
Through the mountains
And up a breeze
Following the glowing fire
Catching sparks that sputter
Oh,
How much fun
it is to be around it.
The luxury it lives in
With words
Making life
Out for the ones
Who are in the depths of despair.
Brings out
The reality among
The fantasies.
I’d love to sing in the morning night
When it’s dark outside but morning over the hill
Rub my feet
Run my bath with petals
Champaign chilled in my glass
Straws in tin cans
Mind of high thoughts in luxury
Real men roll the dice
Lost in the cold sweats
Low tone hum sing the rest
Drape me in silk
Bind it all over my body
Let your fingers linger along
Taking your time to understand my body
Long time dripping in luxury of afterprice
Heavy weight in ice teach me
Dear YXU,
It has been a while! How ya been, ya schmuck?
I’m busting down your doorway and my blood pressure’s up
There’s a small stream of spit
Trailing form the rabid corner of my mouth
