One vicious word that makes us shudder
C-a-n-c-e-r
Your world is crumbling, therefore so is mine
You are paler, weaker, sadder
I become the adult here
Sexual harassment policies oppress
If I feel it, it must be true
Employee morale they do suppress
The constant angst makes everyone blue
Perception is reality is a noxious notion
This 'Glow Up'
It wasn't started with a filter,
or a grand weight loss journey.
It started when life got hard.
Give up your toys,
happiness doesn't meet reality.
I’m pursuing the career of an actor, anyone can say that
However, as time goes by you have to work harder
And you must stay consistent with it
I became lazy
enamored by the work
people bragging and boasting
they breathe freely in the air
gliding through classes, coasting
I sigh and give cold smiles
Because I can't focus I'm withholding
Dear Destroyer of Motivation,
You are a shapeshifter. A manipulator.
You can appear harmless,
like a sweet humming in my ear.
You can be found anywhere.
In phones, my bed, the stars.
You are limitless.
