an artist of graffiti,
a father trying,
a warm heart,
a recovering alcoholic--
a shirker of emotion,
A poem for the best and most influential mentor in my life,
my big brother
David, my dear brother, you are like no other.
Hello Brother.
I miss you
Our family misses you.
It isn't your fault.
You did nothing wrong.
No one can help where they're born.
This has left our family torn.
There is love in an ordinary day
We learn from each other
We argue and disagree
But we find common ground
Watching TV
He flicks my earring
Repeatedly
I turn to him and demand him to stop
BROTHER Growing up we were always side by sideGetting into trouble You would run, I would hideBut now I'm running and we divideI know I'm young and I don't careBut from the bottom of my heartI'm really lucky you were therePeople come and goBrother
If I could ever talk to a star,
I'd ask it about my brother.
I'm sure it would tell me he isn't far,
Or tell me he's with his mother.
If I could talk to a cloud,
We always knew that the day when we
split
would come.
I will always have the scars from you.
The good ones,
when we would play on your floor,
A normal human
But not a normal man
You fulfill many roles
Which many cannot withstand
A lover to your wife
A protector of our land
