Your Smile

I’ll always remember the first time you smiled at me.

It wasn’t the soft curve of your mouth,

Ii was the sparkle in your eyes.

It lit you up.

Like nectar for a bee, it drew me to you.

It was inviting,

knowing and yet innocent,

mischievous.

It filled the room,

my head,

my heart,

my life.......

You taught me how to smile.

Not the fake smile

that I had been hiding behind all my life.

A real full smile.

For the first time.

You made me the person that I could be.
