Jumping into the year with exectations so high

Played football but got out because my school work was too severe 

Tried out for the basketball team didn't make it 

A young man who changed his mindset and became more ambitous 

The school work piled up like bills and life began to get more real 

Aunt went to jail sister ran away from home grades dropped

Felt like my life was falling apart

Had to pick myself up like trash on the floor  

A young man who knows he's capable of doing more 

Loss friends gained friends 

Made mistakes learned lessons 

Fell in love got heart broken 

Found a friend with the same passion as me which was rap 

Worked together and ended up performing in front of the whole school 

Got a job and found the love of my life 

Regained hope and joy 

Finally found out more about me, my passion, my abilities, and my hobbies

I am again truly thankful to be alive for another year
