Worthwhile

Mon, 01/09/2017 - 18:22 -- uhoan

People come and people go.

Relationships—are they worthwhile?

Memories last forever, though.

He grins and, winking, says hello,

But she does not return his smile.

People come and people go.

“Times like these come once, you know.”

Her bitter words march in reply,

“Memories are useless, though.”

Despite her will, her heart’s aglow,

But she is never in denial;

Eventually, everyone must go.

Their wedding seems so long ago,

A sunset in the Emerald Isle;

Memories are foggy, though.

His pulse and breathing finally slow,

But she will always see his smile.

People come and people go;

Memories last forever, though.
