Wine and Some Brie

It’s hard to find friends when you’re older—

at least, that’s what the “experts” say.

But I find if you approach life a little bolder,

the right ones will not only stay, but they’ll play—

and show up with stories and laughter,

with coffee, tea, or wine, and some brie.

You’ll wonder what took you so long to find her—

the one who will just let you be—

your genuine, true self around her,

no need to mask or pretend.

Just two souls meeting on the same road—

although late in life, it is not the end.

Embrace all your moments together,

and cherish this time with your friend.
