White Flag

Behind the likes, filters, posts, and hash tags

Away from the screen and into the light,

There’s a girl who’d never raise her white flag.

She carries her dreams around in a bag,

Her hopes are big and her schedule is tight,

Behind the likes, filters, posts, and hash tags.

She is not shy, but she will never brag,

Her eyes hold focus and look for what’s right,

That’s a girl who’d never raise her white flag.

Unlike her phone she does not ever lag,

She has better things to do than post all night,

Behind the likes, filters, posts, and hash tags.

Her words are terse; she doesn’t lollygag,

Her beauty comes from her will to fight,

That’s a girl who’d never raise her white flag.

She has subscribers but to her it’s a gag,

That goal is not important in her sight,

Behind the likes, filters, posts and hastags,

There’s a girl who’d never raise her white flag.
