When I was five I

When I was five I was asked Roberto, what do you want to be?

What do you see your self being when you're older?

Their eyes, my how they pryed for the generic responses

"I wanna be a firefighter"

"I wanna be a police man"

"I wanna be just like my daddy"

that last one always tugged at my heart strings

At five I could've given two shits less about the world

At five I was more concerened with where will I live next?

what will the microwavable black tray feed me today?

The teachers told us to put on our thinking caps

but all I could think about was how the world was messed up.

If I was asked today what my dream job would be.

I would choose a world fixer upper.

I would be the hero to every fatherless man, woman and child.

I would Swoop in with my don't worry child it'll be alright and

My  "Daddy's gonna buy you a mockingbird" 's

When I was five I was asked Roberto, what do you want to be?

What do you see your self being when you're older?

Their eyes, my how they pryed for the generic responses

When I was seventeen I said my dreamjob

It would be a loving father who is there for is his son
