What We Aren't

We are tired of being told no.

Of being told

"You can't do that"

and

"That career won't feed you"

STOP TELLING US NO,

THAT OUR DREAMS

HOPES

ASPIRATIONS...

They say to think

To use your head.

IF you would teach us

how,

not what,

how to think

ARE INVALID.

YOU DON'T KNOW.

YOU CAN PUT YOURSELF THROUGH COLLEGE

WITH A SUMMER JOB

WE...

We have no desire to be

Hollow Men,

empty and in a desert

worshiping your idols.

They are not ours

They are yours.

NEED A DEGREE TO WORK,

WORK TO GET MONEY

MONEY TO PAY FOR COLLEGE

IS THIS YOUR...

Stop silencing us.

We are not stone.

Your definitions of success

will not define me.

DESIGN?

We are tired of being told no.

Teach us how to think.

We are not Hollow men; your idols are not ours.

Your definitions of success will not define us.
