What do you see when you look at me?

What do you see when you look at me?

Do you see someone who is happy as can be?

Did you ever think that that's what I want you to see?

In truth my feelings don't comply.

I had learned the skill by being a spy.

The mask I wear is very convincing.

I can tell because you never seem to be wondering.

Did you ever think about how lonely I truly feel?

Of course not, for the mask I have managed to steal fools you in every way.

But until someone notices like this I will stay.

I do not know how to change it or how to feel better.

I only know the walls I have used as cover.

To you I am bright and full of promise, but truthfully I can't if you're right.

For I sit there holding the tears back tight.

I am alone but you'll never know, because my mask hides all.

It even hides the few tears that have managed to fall.
