We're Not Really Strangers

“Were not really strangers”

So then what are we?

Were like the venom in a snake bite

Or the poison in ivy

Were a broken mirror

A sad song

A cry for help

A conversation that ran too long

Were a worn out sole

In your favorite pair of shoes

Were the red light,

When you’re just passing through

Were the worst of the best

And the best of the worst

Impossible not to love

Impossible not to hurt

Were the growing pains

And the lost tickets to Spain

Were water to the fire,

And gas, all the same

Were a broken record,

But thats okay

Because no matter how hard to hear

You were my all time favorite song to have ever played
