The Waiting is Over

We met in school, but we rarely talked.

You waited for me.

Then I fell in love with someone else,

But you waited for me.

When it ended, we were in different classes,

Yet you waited for me.

When we reunited, I was blind.

Still you waited for me.

Finally you asked me to prom,

And we thought we were done waiting.

But you hated yourself,

So I waited.

You thought we wouldn't last,

So you waited.

You were negative and emotionally draining.

I tired to wait.

But you won't change.

And I'm done waiting.
