I have lost my voice in the crowd of thousands
from the top of my lungs I screamed down from the mountains
my vocal cords ache from the shouting in the streets
chanting and yelling for the rights of my people

I don't have the strength to speak a word
but ill be damned if I go unheard
And when my voice gets back to full volume
I hope that blacks and whites may sing together
