Under-prepared and Unfocused

Location

You ask why we're stressed,

why we're tirelessly dressed?

Do you ever stop to think

that there's more to life than pencil

and ink?

You ask why we sleep,

how we can't sow if we refuse to reap?

Do you ever realize

that learning shouldn't be based off

of lies?

Lies are not purposely placed,

or perhaps they are.

The goal of school is not just to win a race

or make us stars.

Learning is key to survival.

Stop teaching useless things,

and suddenly we're not your rivals.

Prepare us for life, see if we hold up a knife.

Prepare us for the future, see if we become moochers.

Prepare us to leap, see if we sleep.

Prepare us to live, and we will only be able to give.
