The life of light is sweet,

The still of dark is not

As I sit here and weep,

          My heart begins to rot.

          My life without a smile,

          My eyes without a sight,

          My heart yearns a while,

But your gaze kills the fight.

          My pain burns my soul

          My aching stabs my heart

          Are you aware of me?

          And where it took start?

This is about being a Christian and what we sometimes feel like without God. In Psalms, David is often full of agony, and this poem, although is directed towards someone whom they love, it is also full of pain and the question: "Do you even notice me?"
