True Knowledge
Sometimes I've got better things to do than solve quadratic equations
Or throw my chemistry book against the wall in a fit of frustration.
I don't want to drag myself out of bed just to watch a movie.
Honestly, at eight in the morning sleep and dreams behoove me.
And is it really important to get an A
On something I don't care about anyway?
Or is it more important to simply learn...
To thirst, to hunger, to need, to yearn
For truths about people and what we feel-
To know what's false and what is real?
That is the knowledge that students desire,
And a teacher who knows this can be the crier,
Who spreads the gospel of what students require.
Only then can we take learning higher.
