A Tree in the World

The tree of life it stands
Against the white beach sands
A lovely vision of life
An ongoing reminder of strife

We languish and fret
And and poke and pet
At life and its ills
And our bitter pills

The tree shows its age
Its rings a gauge
As we wrinkle and burn
And the world, it turns

But the tree stands proud
Its leaves a shroud
Its flowers make light
Of life's never ending plight

So take a reminder from the tree
And let yourself just be
Value your time with all your heart
Because it won’t be long from this world, you will forever depart.
