Today They Think, Yesterday I Knew

"Why do we, Ja'Qaylin?"  they ask.
"Do you know yourself?" I ask the barbarians of today's society
The biased and unsure
Wonder why....
Why I walk with regal and unbreakable poise
And even to me , it's sometimes odd
How I remain solid, when I'm everything but a child of God
I'm strong, as well as weak
So how can I speak?
And tell my taunters?
Why I'm Admired by many
And undesirable to others
My boldness builds
And in my deepest voice I say
It's the craziness of my style
The sensitivity of my soul
The secrets I've never told
Day to day, I wonder why....
Hate and admiration
Play such a role
It never left my mind
Because it's clear that my face it not blessed to fit Leonardo's photo
But I walk the earth like a lion untamed
When we all can see I'm not built to fill a bodybuilder's frame
Today and tomorrow, I will shake the world
Them, they will press me to lose
But I will never lose
The poise. The style.
That keeps them confused
