Tinúviel, My Queen of Twilight
Location
the warm white tide
Your footsteps in the sand,
They’re only temporary,
Soon to fill with seawater,
Flushed orange with the last
Lost rays of shimmering daylight.
And as the tide comes in,
The Earth coming to face the silver moon,
What physical hint of you left in the world,
Is gone forever, forever remembered.
embrace of snow
And now I’m seeing it again,
Your footprints now in the snow,
Only temporary as always,
Soon to be covered by snowfall.
Its color is softened grey, but shining like
Small singing lights and diamonds.
And as the snowstorm swallows me,
Heaven’s beauty and fury comes down to Earth,
Sweeping away the last ephemeral trace of you,
So that you’re departed from this world, forever remembered.
my kiss and touch
Every night it’s like this,
My head in the cosmos,
Her body as earthly as it is heavenly.
I’ve brought her a small,
Invaluable piece of my heart,
So that she might live to be mine,
Beneath my touch and kiss.
So it’s not sad that she may be silent,
Or at times seemingly gone - not to me anyway.
Because she is always so much more to me
In the night, or in my mind and in my memories.
She is my Queen of Twilight, my Tinúviel.
my queen of twilight, my tinuviel
Every night it’s like this,
My head in the cosmos,
Her body as earthly as it is heavenly.
She is as beautiful as the silver crescent moon,
Her presence as soothing as the warm white tide.
And she has a voice as soundless falling snow,
With an embrace warm enough to die in.
So it doesn’t hurt that she may be so far away,
Or even sometimes unreachable - not to me anyway.
Really, because she is more than I can imagine,
When it is dusk, or in my spirit or in my heart.
She is my Queen of Twilight, my Tinúviel.
