Tightrope
Never thought I would be here
on a tightrope
one side is new love
the other old
If I fall in the old
I have a chance to make it new again
we are both damaged, perhaps it's time to revive us
If I fall in the new
I might damage her
for she is unharmed by love yet
Do I really want to be the one to do it?
See the conflict here is
Either side I pick
I fall
So maybe I keep stumbling across the rope
To the end
Or is the adversity pointless?
For to fall is easy
But to hit the ground at the bottom
Is it worth it either way?
