Tidal

Location

Overlooking the ripples from a pier far above,
I hear a distant roar of the waves that I love.
The sound hits my ears like a baseball hits the glove.

The sky turns to gray and clouds grow even more,
As one wave starts a rebellious uproar.
I feared for the pier as the waves hit the shore.

Closer and closer the blue monster crawls,
Like my never ending deadlines and plain white walls.
The feelings accumulate while the good time stalls.

Violently crashing, the wave hits the pier,
As my heart starts pounding and I’m filled with fear.
I run away but safety never becomes near.

I try to escape the feelings and wave,
But I’ve had about as much as I can brave.
Will I ever get the peace that I crave?
