“they” tell us (me and you),

stick and stones will break our bones…words will never hurt you.

two (me and you) many voices-hard to choose a side.

idle movement-the bombing tide.

“they” tell us (me and you),

kill with kindness- how violent! not true.

cups full of malice that remain unfulfilled,

controlling attempts, overspill.

“they” tell us (me and you),

give a man a fish, you feed him for a day…

we give “the man” everything and yet he still taketh away.

“they” tell us (me and you),

if you don’t have something nice to say…

((((psst))))… we’ve already heard them all.

“they” tell us (me and you),

((((shhh))))…tired of listening…to untruth,

retreating from the world (pick a side),

changing the world, from the (in)side.
