We burnt out.
Our flourishing romance withered away
leaving us both as ashes of the people we once were.
Without our vessels,
we touch.
Our ashes attempt to replicate our bodies,
but the microscopic pieces of ourselves fall together,
blending into something darker,
making each other smaller.
Both of us dripping further into the voids we try to fill with each others company,
still losing ourselves in our burnt out flame.
