The Struggers

By Taj Blount-Oden

People suffer every day and night

Just by living life, it's such a fight

Young girls come home to men they don't even know

But yet they are expected to put on a show

Afraid of what their mothers might say

They don't know those men are there to stay

It's not just the girls that struggle everyday

The fellas have problems their trying to push away

When fathers abondon their sons they don't know what they are putting them through

Some boys don't have fathers to go home talk to

Their mothers drink and abuse them

So they turn to drugs and weed

How can we build a country if we are planting unhealthly seeds

People always judge us on how we act

But they don't know all of the true facts

That girl u know that u may think is crazy

Might just be the underaged girl with the newborn baby

How can they cope with all of the stress

When they won't get away with chrages they want to press

The guys feel like there is no way out

And they don't know what the true meaning of life is about

When they think that there's no more hope

They turn to drugs and sell dope

If they get caught they go straight to court

What is the point man, life is too short

Never forget the struggles people go through

Because we never know what this world might come to!

Coming from my heart and mind as a middle school student who was aware of the lives of others after hearing the misfortune and hardships of my friend being abused by her mother's boyfriend.
