Speak Up

Thu, 06/27/2019 - 13:40 -- em1tch

Hearing them shame her, had nothing to do with me.

They weren't my friends and I said nothing so she couldn't blame me.

As they laughed, I saw tears in her eyes and fear on her face

but it had nothing to do with me so I just stayed in my place.

Upon leaving the scene, our eyes met by chance

Almost like the movies where slow motion changes a glance

Enough I yelled, leave her alone

It's not funny to her and it's just not cool with a real aggressive tone.

There was a little fear because I didn't quite know what trouble it would start

but I felt so much better, because I had did my part.

Bullying is OUR problem, no one should go at it alone

but at the end of the day, if we don't stand up together, people will think you condone.

Take a chance, do the right thing, is what my Dad would say

I'm just happy I decided to listen to him on that dreadful day.
