A Sonnet of Soundless Compliance

Wretched flames amidst sweltering pink ridges

Licking rocks of white, blistering edges

Extinguished in their feverish flickering

Smoldering in the vessels of breathing

Jagged masses of ivory

Muted glares sew and thread

Ashes, diminish lambency

Cavity that mirrors my head

Unceasing oppression

Unheard words solicit compliance

Nourishes aggression

Apathy, acquires their silence

Mannerisms beseech inactivity

Perception advocates passivity
